This image is a still frame from my first foray into moving images.
For some years I have been watching the cycle of life of patches of Rosebay Willowherb up the lane on my daily dog walk. It’s alternative name is Fireweed, for good reason. At all stages they have a beauty..... in summer they grow tall and colourful and the wind makes them sway in sea like waves. After the flowers, long seed pods form in vibrant purple red and yellow.
Slowly in Autumn the pods begin to burst like fireworks casting millions of seeds on fluffy white down onto the wind.
I’ve spent the Autumn pursuing ways of capturing this transient beauty and this image best captures the results of my efforts to date.
